A Great Craft Blog in Your Email Box

Published by rhyahcf under Uncategorized Edit This

One of my favorite websites for preschool homeschooling, The Best Kids Book Site, has a craft blog. I subscribed a week before last and absolutely love getting a useable craft sent to my email box twice a week. It’s called Craft of the Day, and you can subscribe to the RSS Feed and have the ideas sent straight to your email box. They are sending out Thanksgiving craft ideas right now, and all the one’s I’ve gotten have been easy to do and use common supplies. I hate when I check out a craft site, only to realize that most of the supplies used I don’t have on hand. The craft for today is a simple turkey made with heart feathers. All you need is construction paper, scissors, glue and imagination. I hope you enjoy getting these crafts as much as I do.

Welcome to the Preschool Homeschool

Published by rhyahcf under Uncategorized Edit This

The preschool homeschool is a new blog for ideas and stories about homeschooling your preschooler(s). We’re the Fletcher family, and this will be our 2nd child we’ve homeschooled through kindergarten. Our son, who is now 8, attends public school, but we homeschooled him through K and are now doing the same with our daughter, who is 3.

A place for preschool homeschoolers is so important because this is the time when most parents are just starting out and have no idea where to turn. If you’re a homeschooling parent who is full of questions, or just needs a few ideas, then this is the place to be. I’ll be posting regularly on our lesson ideas, art projects, field trips and other educational things. I’ll also share links to websites that make our preschool time so much more fun and educational. We are not a workbook family. Most of our activities include hands-on, engaging lessons. We do use some handwriting practice and coloring sheets, but overall we like experiments, craft projects and exploring outside.

I hope you’ll join us on our adventure.
